iSync & Nokia 6500 Classic

Première note bilingue par ici, mais bon, on va rendre service à la communauté

En attendant l’acquisition d’un iPhone, j’ai été oblié de changer de téléphone mobile, mon vénérable Sony Ericsson V600i (ouais, comme Monsieur Dream, je sais) est définitivement mouru. J’ai donc cherché un téléphone pas trop cher (1 Sfr, dur de faire mieux :)), plutôt design, mais surtout très fin/léger, avec Bluetooth et compatibilité Mac. Je me fiche d’un appareil qui fait appareil photo/lecteur MP3/radio/télévision/café/.., je veux juste un téléphone un peu moderne avec lequel… téléphoner. J’ai donc choisi le Nokia 6500 Classic. Mon premier retour au monde Nokia depuis le Nokia 3210. En espérant que les retrouvailles seront appréciées.

While waiting for an iPhone, I had to replace my good old Sony Ericsson V600i with a cheap mobile phone. So I decided to go for the Nokia 6500 Classic for it’s thinness and overall design. I don’t really care about television/radio/mp3/camera/whatever. I just want a phone to… phone.

J’ai donc voulu le synchroniser avec mon Mac. Il y a belle lurette que je n’ai pas stocké de contact sur une SIM ni entré mes contacts à la main. Mais voilà, il n’y a aucun plugin iSync pour le Nokia 6500 Classic. J’ai découvert que le profil software était basé sur le Series 40. Et j’ai donc fait un plugin avec une zoulie photo pour iSync. Le voilà:

So I wanted to sync it with my Mac. It’s been a very long time since I last put my contacts on a SIM card or entered my contacts by hand. But thing is, there’s no iSync plugin out there for the Nokia 6500 Classic. I discovered that the software profil behind the 6500C was similar to the Series 40. And so I created a plugin with a picture of the phone for iSync. Here it is:

Pour l’utiliser, décompressez l’archive et déposez Nokia6500c.phoneplugin dans ~/Library/PhonePlugins, démarrez iSync et ajoutez votre téléphone, that’s it. En espérant que ça puisse être utile à quelques personnes…

To use it, simply unzip the archive and put Nokia6500c.phoneplugin into ~/Library/PhonePlugins, open iSync and add your phone, that’s it. Hope this could be of help to some people…
